Recently, I had the pleasure of joining RCR Wireless News Managing Editor Catherine Sbeglia Nin on her technology podcast where women do the explaining, “Well, technically…” We talked about building digital muscles, how digital transformation has changed and accelerated in the era of COVID-19, and why now is an exciting time to be working in telecoms.
In fact, the statistics on digital transformation adoption are staggering. We’ve actually done more in the past two years then in the past ten, in terms of digital transformation. The convergence of automation, analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) has become a key enabler of digital transformation.
Now we’re beyond talking about adoption, and instead we’re talking about how to make things possible with digital transformation. For example, enterprises are building digital muscles as part of their customer and services operations, creating deeper customer engagements through mobility and web components.
The adoption of 5G is further accelerating digital transformation, causing a data tsunami in service operations. Process automation and AI are crucial to managing this data. There’s simply no way to deliver a competitive customer experience today with repeatable and scalable processes that aren’t automated. And those automated processes need to be constantly audited for optimization — machine learning and AI technologies can deliver that.
Telecom service providers play an important role in this vital transformation process. To learn more, listen to our full conversation on the podcast: Well, technically… it’s the most exciting time to be in telecom: Fujitsu Network Communications’ Rhonda Holloway (Ep. 66)
