Rod was among the engineers involved in the development and earliest implementations of SONET. His experience during this foundational period in the optical networking industry gives him unique perspective and insight into the “bigger picture” as well as the overall evolutionary direction of communications networking and ICT. Rod’s background is in software engineering, which adds further weight to his understanding of SDN and NFV. Rod’s an avid ice hockey fan and player and he’s also an accomplished hunter and fisherman, relentlessly tracking down furred, feathered and scaly quarry with the same ingenuity and tenacity he brings to his role as CTO of Fujitsu Network Communications.
